Description: One continuous shot, without a cut, of a Mk IV Female tank, number 2558, moving away across a narrow gauge railway line, up a grassy incline and into the distance across a flat grassy plain. It is accompanied by a handful of soldiers who lift a wire for the tank to pass underneath without cutting it. Two men sit on the tank and an officer rides beside it on a white horse. Probably considerably behind the lines. II. 6-inch 26cwt howitzers firing in the yard of a farmhouse, while in the vehicle park their gunners fuse the shells and Royal Engineer wagons gallop forward past the battery. With each firing the vibration shakes slates from the farmhouse roof. An 18-pounder battery is brought forward past the scene.
A British Mk IV Female tank and a 6-inch howitzer battery, probably Amiens area, Western Front, late March 1918.
